M&E Building Services Surveyor– Residential major works refurbishment – Central London

We are currently working with a central London council who are looking to bring into their team a M&E (Mechanical & Electrical) Client Surveyor to work closely with the programme management team across their residential estate portfolio.  The business is focused on personal career development, an open and transparent working environment and this role represents an effective “client side” position across a high-profile residential portfolio.

Remuneration:
£50,000 - £55,000 + high level benefits + Bonus
Flexible 2 day office 3 day home working set up

The Role:
The M&E Surveyor will be joining a proactive team of 12 who focus on managing the major refurbishment work across the residential estate (which includes listed and conservation areas buildings). You will work closely with the programme managers defining the 5-year investment plans and project scope for circa £10 million worth of refurbishment work p.a. delivered via Term Partnering Contracts.  The core work for the M&E Surveyor / Engineer will be front end RIBA 0 – 2 assessing work (HVAC, community heating, fire, lighting and utilities systems) and setting up the briefing and scope of works for the capital programme / projects team and partnering contractors to carry out the refurbishment.

As the M&E client surveyor you will be responsible for leading all technical issues for the internal and external refurbishment work running full circle to “lessons learnt” to feedback into future projects.  This role is effectively a “client side” position overseeing the M&E works across the high-profile central London housing portfolio with a good team and working environment.

The ideal person will most likely have come from a building services, design or repairs contractor / consultancy or be currently working in a similar client side or local authority role.

Requirements:

  • Degree in building services engineering, M&E or equivalent, CIBSE qualified preferable

  • c.5 years’ experience in M&E building services and condition surveying preferably within residential stock.

  • Experience of Keystone or Orchard database would be advantageous but not essential.

  • Good stakeholder management and communication skills.

This position represents an excellent opportunity to join a growing collaborative team and have a real impact on the lives of residence living in central London.
