We are currently working in collaboration with a leading real estate company in London that specialises in commercial, retail, and residential real estate.

Our client is searching for a talented Associate Director of Financial Reporting to join their financial reporting team.

 Remuneration:

£75,000- £80,000 Plus - Top-Level Benefits and Bonus

 The Role:

The role involves managing a team of three that is responsible for maintaining and evaluating the general ledger. Additionally, they will prepare interim and audited year-end financial statements for various companies and trusts that manage specific estates.

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a financial reporting team of three to four members, conducting regular one-on-one meetings to support their career development.

  • Lead the year-end and interim appraisal processes while overseeing the preparation and review of financial statements.

  • Prepare interim and year-end financial statements for the Portman Estate, including group consolidations, and maintain supporting working papers.

  • Liaise with external auditors regarding year-end audit inquiries and ensure the accuracy of the general ledger.

  • Prepare and review income and expenditure variance analysis reports, managing the VAT return preparation and filing for entities within the Portman Estate.

  • Oversee the bank reconciliation process and ensure timely recharges between entities.

  • Maintain lease incentive schedules and manage the flow of financial information from third-party managing agents for service charge properties and management agreements.

 Requirements:

  • ICAEW or ACCA qualification

  • Expert knowledge of UK GAAP

  • Familiarity with UK corporation tax, income tax, and VAT

  • Experience in leading a finance team and using accounting software

  • Strong financial control and corporate reporting skills, including group consolidations
